Course description
In this module, learners are introduced to best practices for record-keeping, resolving conflict, crisis management and critical incident debriefing. Learners are given scenarios they may face while working in the homelessness serving sector in which to apply best practices. The purpose of this module is to provide employees and volunteers in the homelessness serving sector the opportunity to develop proficiency in using person-centred best practices in record-keeping as well as in responding to conflict and crisis situations.
Learning objectives
After successfully completing this module, you will be able to:
- Describe aspects of FOIPPA legislation as they relate to client confidentiality and privacy
- Identify and apply best practices for record-keeping and note-taking
- Apply person-centred, trauma-informed, decolonized and anti-stigma approaches to resolving
conflict - Identify and apply best practices for crisis management
- Identify and apply best practices in critical incident debriefing
