Which ELC program(s) did you attend?
I attended the Monthly English program.
What made your ELC program special?
My lovely teachers made a lot of unforgettable classes and my classmates were also friendly. And many activities like tasting chips, decorating cookies and making clay always attract me a lot.
What is the most memorable thing that happened to you as an ELC student?
I was picked to be the speaker in our final lunch. I felt a little nervous before I gave a speech. But because of my friends’ applause and encouragement, I felt more confident to give a speech. Fortunately, I did it well!
Do you have any favourite memories of Canadian culture?
Canadian are so free to develop their own interests because they don’t need to worry about their future life or job. I like their free life very much.
How did learning with other students from other cultures change how you see the world?
We just talked about our school life and daily life in our free time. I could compare their life with my life to change my way to see the world.
Did studying English with us open any new opportunities for you? What are you doing now?
Yes! I keep studying English now and I am preparing for the IELTS exam.
Victoria is a safe city and people here are friendly. The environment is so clean and we always can see many birds on the street.
You don’t need to worry that there is an obstacle to communicate with others if you have a poor spoken English. Teachers will encourage you to speak more and be more confident. You can also improve your spoken English by talking to the volunteers in ELC program.
