ELC Additional Cost Activities

Are you a current ELC student interested in participating in our additional cost activities? Activities change every term, but often include visiting Butchart Gardens, going whale watching, kayaking, or visiting Vancouver.

Additional cost activities will be available for registration starting on the indicated date at 2:00 pm local time.

All additional cost activities are non-refundable.

2-Night Vancouver Trip

  • Round trip transportation from UVic to downtown Vancouver (buses & ferry)
  • 2 nights of shared accommodation (Hotel Willo or comparable)
  • Downtown walking tour
  • Accompanying Cultural Assistant (CA) staff

**Meals are NOT included.

**Rooms are shared between 2-5 people.

Early Childhood Education (ECE) Activities

  • Visit a local elementary school
  • Join a workshop about using puppets to teach children
  • Join a workshop about learning in nature

Encounters with Place (Hike and Learn) (CIFAL) 

An introduction to local ecology, including sights and sounds, with a focus on the landscapes, waterscape and plants that surround us.

This is a 2–day program running over two Saturdays, approximately 6 hours each day. You can sign up for one or both sessions. Completion of the full program (both sessions) provides you with a CIFAL Certificate.
