Notes for Arrival Day
- Cultural Assistant staff (CAs) are available at the airport from 9:00am to 9:00pm.
- CAs are available at the Housing office from 9:00am to 9:00pm.
- If you arrive outside of these hours, please go to the Housing office. It is open 24 hours and the staff there will be able to help.
- If you are having issues, please message our dormitory Instagram @ELCDormitorySupport, it is monitored by staff 24 hours a day.
- The Cove cafeteria is open from 7:30am to 7:00pm
- Mix and Mingle (welcome event for students living in Dorms) will take place at 7:00pm in the CST Atrium. We will provide pizza for students who arrive after the Cove is closed.

First Day Schedule for August 4 Week Summer Language and Culture Program
August 4, 2026
8:00am – 8:30am | Arriving on Campus
UVic staff (Cultural Assistants – CAs) will be outside The Cove and at the main bus stop to direct you to the Continuing Studies Building (CST).
Meet in Testing Groups for Writing Sample Tests
Testing Group locations for your first day will be available at 8:00pm on Friday, July 31 at Summer Language and Culture Program – First Day Locations.

9:30am | WELCome Event
CST Atrium
10:30am – 12:30pm | Speak Tests and Campus Tours with CAs
Speak Test times will be assigned by the instructors. Campus Tours will be led by CAs.
12:30pm – 2:00pm | Lunch Break
2:00 – 3:00pm | Program orientation, UMO (bus pass) Orientation
Meet outside the Cove to walk over to Program Orientation
3:00pm-3:45pm | Welcome Reception
6:30pm, 7:30pm, and 8:30pm | Residence Life Orientation
Schedule will be provided during Program Orientation.
End of day. CAs will be available to direct you back to your residence building.
CST is the Continuing Studies building, home of the English Language Centre (ELC).
