Ice-free Northwest Passage and Canada's Arctic Sovereignty
COURSE
Course description
The Canadian Coast Guard has recorded an increase in the number of ships moving through the Northwest Passage, now more navigable due to climate change.
An Ice-free Northwest Passage would unlock the North' s resource potential. Other Arctic nations, such as the United States, argue the Northwest Passage an international strait.
Is Canada able to enforce its sovereignty?
