Protecting shorelines in the face of climate change and sea level rise has largely focused on building seawalls and dikes. While these structures provide protection in the short term, they’re expensive and often contribute to erosion and habitat loss at other locations along the shoreline. As an alternative to hard armouring solutions like seawalls, the Green Shores Training Program provides practical strategies for shoreline design and management, and the promotion of healthy shoreline environments.
